I like AI agents, simulation and space. I build software, run experiments, and think about megastructures like the one on this page.

About

I'm Jerry. I'm from Toronto, and I study computer science at the University of Waterloo as a Schulich Leader.

Space is the thing I find coolest: Dyson swarms, asteroid mining, and science fiction that takes its physics seriously, like the Xeelee Sequence. The cover of this page is that interest with the arithmetic done.

I also love AI agents, simulation, and making things people use. Most days I'm building alongside coding agents.

Work

Software people use: AI video at a YC startup, a counter-drone turret, and a math judge in 182 countries.

Mathos AI

Software engineering intern2026 to nowYC W24 · AI video lessons

Shipped video export, the email pipeline, and an MCP server that lets people make Mathos lessons from inside ChatGPT and Claude.

Waterloo Defence

Co-founder, software lead2026 to nowCounter-UAS · DND CUAS Sandbox 2027

I co-founded a student team building an autonomous counter-drone turret, and lead its software: finding the drone, tracking it, and aiming ahead of it. Our detector beats fine-tuned Ultralytics YOLO and Roboflow RF-DETR models on the same drone benchmarks.

TopsOJ

Founder2023 to now100,000+ users · 182 countries

A judge for competitive math I started in high school. Over 100,000 people in 182 countries have used it.

Quoted Tech Computers

Research

Four sole-authored papers, on coding agents and on binary stars.

Verifying the Second Agent

NeurIPS 2026 workshops2026NeurIPS 2026 · Two workshops

Do more coding agents fix more bugs? In controlled experiments, trees of agents spent 6 to 12 times the tokens for no gain.

Projects

Hackathon builds and things I made because I wanted them.

Cardboard Cockpit

Hack the North2026

A flight simulator you fly from a cardboard cockpit and a webcam.

Daedalus

JAMHacks 10, Best Non-GenAI Hack2026

Sculpting in 3D with your hands in the air.

Drift

Featured on the Chrome Web Store2026

Turns the wait for an AI's answer into a short, focused break.

Worldline Engine

Simulation2026

A universe simulator where one seed always grows the same universe. The cover of this page grows the same way.

Porchlight

An aid dispatcher run by agents, which hands anything sensitive to a person.

PolyTwist

Solves and renders twisty puzzles it has never seen.
